Description

Crown & Bridge Design Service

Product brief. Crown & Bridge Design is our flagship design service for fixed restorations — from a single full-contour crown to long-span bridges. Your lab sends the scan with a marked margin line and bite registration; our designers return a mill-ready design with precise margins, anatomical contour and occlusion checked — within 12–24 hours.

Fixed restorations are where your lab’s reputation is made, and the design stage decides whether the restoration seats on the first try. Our designers work the way your best technician would: margins traced edge by edge against the die, contact areas opened to your preferred gauge, occlusion adjusted against the opposing scan rather than left for the articulator to fix, and embrasure and axial contours shaped for cleanability — not just for the screenshot.

What is included in every case

  • Single crowns — full-contour zirconia, e.max, PFM and full-cast, anatomical or reduced contour
  • Multi-unit and long-span bridges — connectors sized to material and span requirements, passive fit prioritised
  • Inlays, onlays and overlays — adhesive-style designs with reinforced isthmus geometry where indicated
  • Provisional crowns and bridges — for print or mill workflows, with easy-relief settings
  • Post-and-core designs — when sent with the post scan or appropriate records
  • Margin & cement space control — chamfer, shoulder or feather-edge traced to spec; material-appropriate spacer settings with a tight margin zone

Designed for your fabrication workflow

We output open STL/EXO/3Shape files that drop straight into your CAM queue. Tell us your mill and material system once — zirconia, lithium disilicate, PFM alloy or full cast — and we store the parameters against your account: spacer values, minimum thickness, connector rules and contact gauge. Every future case arrives pre-configured for your line.

  • Compatible with exocad (DentalCAD) and 3Shape Dental System cases
  • Export formats: STL, EXO, 3SDX/DEXIS, plus PDF case documentation
  • Parameters matched to leading zirconia, glass-ceramic and alloy systems

What we need from you

  • Prep scan (or model scan) with a clearly marked margin line
  • Opposing arch and bite registration for occlusal clearance
  • Material choice and contact/margin preferences — or simply your lab’s standing settings on file

Turnaround

Standard crown & bridge design is returned within 12–24 hours of case receipt — single units often much sooner. Long-span and implant-supported bridges are scheduled with your production calendar in mind. Urgent case? Send it through with your deadline and we will confirm the schedule before starting.

Why labs outsource crown & bridge design to Odontalab

  • Margins traced case by case — no auto-generated margin lines left unreviewed
  • Free unlimited minor revisions until the design is approved
  • Consistent case documentation your technicians can check in minutes, not hours
  • One design partner for crowns, copings, implants, dentures and splints — fewer vendors to manage

Do you design full-contour or framework-only?
Both — full-contour anatomical designs for monolithic zirconia and e.max, and reduced frameworks for layering. Tell us the material and technique and we design to it.
How do you handle short or unclear margins?
We flag them — never guess. Any ambiguous margin section is marked on the PDF documentation and returned to your team for confirmation before the design is finalized.
Can you match our contact and occlusion preferences?
Yes. Send your contact gauge and occlusal scheme preference once — we store them against your account and apply them to every future case.
How fast can a case be returned?
Standard turnaround is 12–24 hours from receipt of complete records; single crowns often come back sooner. Mark urgent cases in your submission and we will confirm the schedule before starting.
How do we send a case?
Upload scans and bite records through our Send a Case form. You receive design delivery and revision tracking by email — no plugins or software to install.

Have crown & bridge cases to outsource?

Send the scans with your margin specification — we will confirm the design path and delivery time within one working day.
